The patient suffered from multiple organ failures as well as kidney failure, which did not recover. Her new normal was the peritoneal, and later hemolysis. For the eighteen days she was in the hospital, her life was changed for the better. Angelica had completed a half-year of dialysis, and one year half-year of dialysis, was now set for the most significant operation of all - a kidney replacement. She would receive the donated kidney from her mom. Angelica and mom had the surgery to remove their kidneys successfully on 13 September 2013. The surgery was performed at Emory University Hospital and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston, two hospitals that are located next to one another. Angelica Hale, a young girl from Atlanta who has always wanted to be an actress and a singer, is still pursuing that goal.
